F.A.Q.s

We know that understanding your body and your care matters. At Silverstone Osteopathy, we’re always happy to answer your questions — whether you’re new to osteopathy or returning for continued support. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common queries, designed to help you feel informed, confident, and in control of your health.

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of hands-on healthcare that focuses on how the body moves and functions as a whole. Using detailed observation, clinical reasoning, and manual techniques, osteopaths aim to identify what’s causing discomfort or dysfunction — not just where it hurts, but why. Treatment is tailored to support your body’s natural ability to recover, helping you move more freely, with less pain.

What conditions can osteopathy treat?

Osteopathy can help with a wide range of musculoskeletal issues including:

  • Lower back pain

  • Neck and shoulder pain

  • Joint stiffness or tension

  • Postural strain from desk work or daily life

  • Sports-related injuries or recovery

Often, the pain you feel is connected to other areas of the body. We take time to understand how everything is working together — or not — to get to the root of the issue.

How much does it cost?

Appointments at Silverstone Osteopathy are priced as follows:

  • Initial Appointment: £70

  • Follow-Up Appointments: £60

This includes a full assessment, hands-on treatment, and any relevant advice or exercises to support your recovery. We’ll always be transparent about pricing and aim to make sure you get real value from each session. Our goal is to help you improve as efficiently as possible — not keep you coming back unnecessarily.

Is osteopathy safe?

Yes — osteopathy is a safe and regulated form of care in the UK. All osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and undergo extensive training in anatomy, clinical diagnosis, and hands-on treatment. At Silverstone Osteopathy, your safety is a priority. We’ll always explain the approach before beginning treatment and adapt it to your needs and comfort level.

How many sessions of osteopathy will I need?

This varies from person to person. Some people see improvement in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from a slightly longer course of care, especially for long-standing or complex issues. We’ll always give you a clear idea of what to expect and focus on helping you become more confident and independent in managing your health — not reliant on ongoing treatment.

At Silverstone Osteopathy, we understand you may have questions that aren’t covered in the FAQ section. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’re always happy to help.
